「啲data file俾咗咁多資料,我點知邊啲擺Introduction、邊啲擺Findings?結論同建議有咩分別?」——呢個係DSE考生面對Report題目時最常見嘅困惑。

相比Article或者Speech呢類經常操練嘅文體,Report喺DSE Paper 2嘅出現頻率較低,但一旦出現,唔少考生會因為格式錯、結構亂、語氣唔夠客觀而失分。喺Paper 3綜合寫作入面,Report更加係熱門題型之一,幾乎隔年就會考到。

Report嘅5部分基本結構

DSE Report無論係Paper 2定Paper 3,結構都離不開以下5個部分:

Report嘅兩大出題方式

Paper 2 Writing — 正式報告

Paper 2嘅Report通常要求以某個身份向校長或委員會提交報告。語氣要正式客觀,Findings要基於假設數據或問卷結果,Recommendations要具體可行。唔好用「I think」,改用「It is recommended that…」

Paper 3 Integrated Skills — 資料整合報告

Paper 3嘅Report係綜合寫作嘅一環,根據Data File提供嘅資料撰寫報告。嚴格根據Data File資料,將Listening Task聽返嚟嘅資訊整合入Findings,引用資料來源增加客觀性。

Introduction 引言

  • “The aim of this report is to [目的].”
  • “This report sets out to examine [主題].”
  • “A survey was conducted among [對象] to gather data on [主題].”

 

Findings 調查結果

  • “According to the survey, [百分比] of respondents stated that…”
  • “It was found that [發現].”

Conclusion 結論

  • “In light of the findings, it can be concluded that [結論].”
  • “Based on the data collected, it is evident that…”

Recommendation 建議

  • “It is recommended that [具體建議].”
  • “The school should consider [行動].”
  • “To address this issue, [建議] is strongly recommended.”

完整範例

Title: Report on Extending School Library Opening Hours

 

Introduction: The aim of this report is to examine the feasibility of extending the school library opening hours during exam periods. A questionnaire was distributed to 200 students from Forms 4 to 6.

 

Findings: According to the survey, over 75% of respondents stated that they have difficulty finding sufficient study time within the current library hours. Among them, 68% expressed support for extending opening hours to 9pm. However, around 20% expressed concerns about safety when leaving school late.

 

Conclusion: In light of the findings, it can be concluded that there is significant demand for extended library hours, particularly during exam periods.

 

Recommendation: It is recommended that the library extends its opening hours to 9pm from Monday to Friday during exam periods, with a trial period of two months. Additional security measures should also be arranged.

5大常見錯誤

  1. 將Report寫成Article — Report要求客觀,用”It is recommended”代替”I believe”
  2. Findings冇分點 — 每個finding俾clear point,必要時用bullet points
  3. Conclusion同Recommendation二合為一 — 先總結發現,再獨立列建議
  4. 冇引用數據 — 每個finding要引用具體數字,增加可信性
  5. Recommendation太Hea — 要具體到做咩、點做、由邊個負責
